Our team was founded in response to the devastating fires in Moria, September 2020

Emergency response
Following the fires, there was an urgent need for medical care for the huge number of people who were moved to the temporary emergency site, Mavrovouni camp, and without an established medical system and protocol this was extremely challenging. CMA conceptualised and implemented the centralisation of the medical area, which was vital in the set-up of the camp and has pioneered a collaboration between organisations which has massively benefitted our patients.
-
Empowerment
CMA has taken an approach which is unique in this context, we employ a staff of Greek people and people from a refugee or asylum seeking background at all levels of the organisation - this has proven to be a massive strength in our operations, and has opened doors for our staff to other opportunities in this field. We firmly believe that lived experience equals expertise, and in order for us to give the best possible service it is important that decision-making is led by the voices of people who are directly affected thereby.
-
Innovation
Our work is driven by the constant desire to upgrade - we aim to eliminate inefficiencies in systems and to better the way in which we provide medical care. We firmly believe that high quality medical care should be accessible to everyone, and know that research is critical to the constant improvement of our services and patient experience. We are proud to be working in collaboration with a number of academic institutions to ensure that there is constant monitoring of our work, and that any opportunities for improvement are identified and acted on.
-
Collaboration
CMA has identified that working together with other organisations ensures that the holistic care of our patients is taken into account, and that each actor is covering different aspects of care -allowing for the best use of resources.
We are working side-by-side with a number of partners, both in the field and afar, which help us to provide the best possible care to those who really need it.
